A brownfield conversion moves your ECC system, including data, history, configuration and processes, to S/4HANA®. Quatelio runs the full project, accelerated by QTS, our AI-based transformation tool that reads your system, plans the effort and cuts the cost.
There is no single right path. If your processes work and your data history matters, a system conversion is usually the fastest and safest way, and you can still improve processes afterwards.
QTS connects to your live ECC system and automates the three slowest parts of every brownfield project: custom code analysis, simplification item triage and effort estimation. A project plan built from your actual system data: in weeks, not months.
Reads your ECC system. Produces scope, effort and cost: before the project plan meeting.
AI-proposed ABAP® fixes, reviewed and approved by a developer before anything changes.
We follow SAP® Activate, the standard method for S/4HANA® projects, so your team and SAP® all speak the same language. QTS and QCC take the slow, manual parts out of it.
Find out what the move means for you: business case, scope and a first estimate.
Plan the project, set up the team and fix the prerequisites: Unicode, Business Partner (CVI), add-ons.
Go through simplification items and custom code, decide what to retire, adapt or keep.
Sandbox and test conversions on copies of production. Adapt code, migrate finance data, test.
Dress rehearsal, cutover plan and the go-live weekend, with a fallback ready.
Stabilise, then improve: Fiori® apps, embedded analytics and clean core extensions.
Find what is used, retire what is not, adapt the rest to the S/4HANA® data model.
Every relevant SAP® simplification item checked against your system and turned into a task.
Customers and vendors converted to Business Partners before the move: the most common blocker.
Universal Journal, new asset accounting and material ledger: migrated and reconciled.
SUM with DMO: database move to SAP® HANA and conversion in one step, with downtime planned.
Test conversions, regression tests and a cutover runbook rehearsed before go-live.
SAP® ECC 6.0 mainstream maintenance support ends on 31 December 2027. Extended maintenance support is available until 2030 at extra cost. The Private Edition transition option extends until 2033. Starting your S/4HANA® migration now avoids last-minute pressure and higher extended-maintenance fees.
For most mid-sized systems, 9 to 18 months from first assessment to go-live. QTS gives you an estimate for your system in the first weeks, based on your custom code and simplification items.
Your system must be on Unicode, customers and vendors must be converted to Business Partners (CVI), and add-ons must be checked for S/4HANA® compatibility. If you are not yet on SAP® HANA, SUM with DMO moves the database in the same step.
Usually a large share is no longer used and can be retired. The rest is adapted to the S/4HANA® data model. QTS shows which is which; QCC proposes the fixes, and nothing is changed without approval.
The biggest cost driver in a brownfield project is manual analysis: identifying which custom code is still used, which simplification items affect your system and how long each adaptation takes. QTS reads your live ECC system and produces this analysis automatically, replacing weeks of spreadsheet work with a structured, data-driven report. The effort model it generates forms the basis of your project plan and fixed-price proposal.
Your system keeps running. SAP® offers extended maintenance until 2030 at extra cost, and the Private Edition transition option until 2033. Planning early keeps those options open — and cheaper.
Run a QTS scan of your ECC system — scope, effort and a realistic timeline, ready in weeks.
